After lunch, XTH accompanied me to the Temple of Heaven (天坛). I have been fascinated by this since I heard about it, and very excited to actually be there. What a history! I don’t know if I am putting too much of positive slant on it, but it certainly seems to me that the Chinese knew there was a God over everything – 上帝 (Shàng dì) – but somehow this got distorted to worshipping creation instead (heaven, fire, earth, water, etc); cf. Romans 1:23. Keep praying that the Chinese nation would rediscover the knowledge of the true Great High God, as so many Chinese people already have.
